Overcoming the challenges of the growing timber work market together and being able to drive forward pioneering developments motivated WEINMANN to hold the first FutureCom event. Under the strategic program "Building the future, one day at a time", WEINMANN is taking a thorough look at the ever-changing demands placed on the timber work industry, in particular with regard to market requirements, services and future development.

Open dialog

Twenty owners and managers from the timber work industry were invited to attend the first event in the WEINMANN FutureCom series at the WEINMANN premises in St. Johann. The participants included representatives of timber work companies, large carpentry firms, element and module manufacturers and even the largest players in the German prefabricated house industry.
A keynote speech on the topic "Future trends in construction" by Porsche Consulting partner Roland Sitzberger set the mood for the rest of the day for the participants.
The subsequent workshops investigated key topics for the timber work industry. A central theme of these workshops was analyzing forecasted and emerging trends in the industry: digitalization, flexible and mobile living, residential modules, raw material resources, integrated software solutions and, last but not least, the lack of skilled workers.
In further workshops, the participants looked at the effects and various influences of these trends on the industry, engaging in detailed and creative discussions. Topics such as digitalization, flexible module construction, branding for the timber work industry and requirements for machine technology were of great interest for the timber work companies.
In all of the workshops, the participants were extremely open and willing to take part in discussions. Both the timber work companies and WEINMANN drew very positive conclusions from the first FutureCom event. Frank Lewers, authorized representative of Terhalle Holzbau, describes his impression of the event: "The FutureCom meeting at WEINMANN was very informative and an excellent opportunity to hold discussions with other timber work companies." The participants will actively work on the topics analyzed at the event to strengthen the timber work industry and drive it forward.
The collaboration started at FutureCom will continue. Many participants expressed their wish for further FutureCom events. "All in all, the event was a great success and a great start to our new customer platform," says Michael Marschall, Sales and Marketing Director at WEINMANN, looking back on the event.
