Schopfloch, July 18, 2022. In mechanical and plant engineering, HOMAG once again ranked among the best training companies in Germany. Thanks to the outstanding quality of its offering for young people, the company achieved the third place in the “Training Champions 2022” ranking. The ranking was compiled by F.A.Z. Institut in collaboration with IMWF Institut für Management- und Wirtschaftsforschung GmbH.

Most recently, almost 40 percent of all apprenticeship positions in Germany remained vacant. It is therefore all the more important for companies to make their own offerings as attractive as possible. Studies such as the “Training Champions 2022” help young people to orient themselves and find a suitable profession and company. The ranking is based on an extensive evaluation of numerous online sources, the so-called social listening. This involved a targeted search for keywords and articles and the evaluation of their tonality. To this end, for example, news sites, online forums, social media and blogs were used. A total of 438 million online sources were evaluated.

“The great ranking makes us proud, of course; we strongly believe that a high-quality training program is an ideal component for attracting the skilled workers of tomorrow,” explains Dr. Daniel Schmitt, CEO of HOMAG Group AG. The world market leader for woodworking machinery and systems currently employs a total of around 300 trainees and students in work-study programs in Germany. Every year, around 130 young people start their careers at the German locations of HOMAG. The range of training includes 15 commercial and technical/industrial apprenticeships and 12 work-study programs.
