WORLD PREMIERE: THE NEW BMG 310 SERIES.

Freely accessible with more space for tools. When they developed the new BMG series, the HOMAG CNC experts applied the motto "Keep the good parts and add something new". With a robust and stable sliding gantry design constructed in welded steel, the BMG 310 series delivers everything required for a wide range of applications and potential configurations.
A proven console table in the dual-circuit system with LED setup aid or an automatic table plus versions designed as a CNC trimming center or as a machine for shaped edge banding cover all the fields of application.

The table is accessible from three sides
The operator has easy access for loading and unloading the machine. There is space for larger parts to protrude beyond the dimensions of the machine and cleaning and disposal of offcuts is not hindered by fences and barriers. The machine is enclosed on all sides so that it can be easily configured for the installation site without the need for additional safety measures. Proven properties from the previous BMG series have been retained: Access from the front means that it is convenient to operate the edging tape magazine and access the drill block and routing spindle.

Space for 32 tools
"All on board" is the perfect way to describe the advantage offered by the new 32-slot tool changer, giving the operator rapid access to the tools and a high level of versatility. The design features a plate that has an outer ring with 24 slots and an inner ring with 8 slots, ensuring optimum use of space.

Proper organization in the machine bed
The consoles are supplied via covered cable trails. This ensures that offcuts are not left hanging and prevents any damage to the hoses. The consoles are located entirely within the machine frame, so chips and offcuts fall onto the chip belt in the machine bed, not in front or behind — perfectly suited for automated production cells.

The new powerTouch PC87 machine operation system
With PC87, HOMAG has consistently developed the CNC controller and further optimized it for touch screen operation. The machine bed, the consoles, the clamping equipment and the workpiece including all forms of processing are now displayed as a freely rotating 3D model. Assignments are allocated via drag & drop, and all required clamping equipment is calculated based on space requirements. Clamping equipment can subsequently be moved, removed or new equipment added using the touch screen. The workpiece assignment can be rotated in 90-degree steps to achieve an optimum clamping situation. Thanks to the integrated production list, a complete series of programs can be processed as a list. In automatic mode, the control system automatically assigns a new program from the list as soon as a slot has been processed.
Numerous functions have been added to the CNC operation, so that the operator has better and faster control of the machine. For example, all of the essential information for the currently running program is displayed, such as the active tool, the current processing macro, the current NC record and all the axis positions.

Operation made easy
The BMG 110, the little brother, has set a new benchmark for simple machine operation with the scanner function and the convenience package that was launched in spring 2016. In this configuration the main functions are activated using keys located on the enclosure and side stops and the same system has now offered for the BMG 310. In addition, display functions to indicate the machine status are now integrated into the keys. The foot switch that was never in quite the right place has also been replaced by a wide foot-operated switch bar. A second touchscreen so that long machines can be operated from both sides completes the operating environment.

NEW NESTING PROCESS.

Self-expression through individual furniture fronts
The trend of customizing furniture is growing constantly. More and more people want to express themselves within their own four walls. In the past, this would have taken the form of extravagant shapes and colors; nowadays, this has expanded to include custom-printed furniture fronts. This poses a challenge for furniture manufacturers: How do you cut individually designed fronts precisely enough that the panels subsequently fit together perfectly? HOMAG is demonstrating the solution at LIGNA with the new nesting process. This involves precisely cutting individually-designed fronts so that the panels subsequently fit together perfectly and create a flawless overall impression. During the automated nesting process with "control point detection", "control points" on the decorative layer are evaluated via a camera in the machine and the component to be processed is referenced in the panel and cut precisely.
